The police of Sweden reported that a 45-year-old man was detained in Stokholm after he attempted to cross the border from Russia in his car, having still been in the vehicle when the police stopped him. The statement mentions that the man is suspected of illegal smuggling.
"In 2015 and 2018 he had already committed attacks on the Russian consulate and a trade mission in Sweden," the police statement says.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia stated via Telegram that the suspect is a citizen of Ukraine with permanent residency in Sweden, who is "well-known to the consulate and local police."
